Hi,
I just replaced the windscreen on my Alpine with the glass and all rubber
from Bamforths.
<sunbeamtalbotspares at tiscali.co.uk> Their prices were:
glazing rubber £5
bottom screen rubber £12
Worked out well, without any problems.
Hope this helps,
Ricardo

Subject: [Sunbeam Talbot Email List] Windshield gasket
Hello Sunbeam enthusiasts,
I am replacing the front windshield of an early Alpine. The old gasketing
rubber is not good enough for re-use. The best replacement material I have
found so far is an extruded grey "U"-shaped rubber used for household storm
doors and windows. I also found an automotive black rubber gasketing of the
proper thickness, but it comes in small rectangular flat sheets. It would
be perfect if it was available in roll form.
I do not want to use urethane or silicone, which is what the automotive
glass shop suggests. Is there a commonly available material for this
application?
Thank you very much,
Gilles
