Wow indeed.  Great collection of photos.  
 
I have three resulting questions for some of you that know these cars cold.

 
1. The little Union Jacks that are behind the Alpine logo on the wings of
the sapphire blue Alpine Sports in photo No. 8 I have seen before on some
British made cars.  Now, I am presuming that these were not used in the
early fifties as an option at all and those were added for effect by someone
later on, right?
  
2.  Also, in photo No. 8, there is a louver door that can be opened for a
vent to the interior.  Was this ever an option?  I have not seen that before
and presume it was created by some later owner, right?  
 
3.  Finally, I noted that on the front of one of the Alpine Sports the
parking light bezels (perhaps) are chrome plated.  Mine were painted the
body color when I got the car and I presumed that the shop had painted over
rubber grommets/mounting seals believing that would be a better look.  Were
these actually metal.  I haven't pushed in on mine to try to see as I don't
want to chance breaking the paint film.  Thanks.
