Hi again,

I¹m still in the midst of sorting out the smaller details on my 53 Alpine
with the intention of keeping it as original as possible. Regarding the
exhaust, I¹m not trying to hot rod the car, it¹s just that the previous
owner pinched the tailpipe down with all its bends to the point of serious
constriction. I¹ll replace it and run it out the back, but with more careful
bending.

The purpose of this email is to ask about the steering wheel on the car.
It¹s completely black and from what I can tell it¹s the original wheel that
went with the car which was always a white body, but originally a dark brown
interior with a white dash and black knobs. In all my searching every Alpine
that I have found a photo of has a white steering wheel. In fact I haven¹t
seen a car without a white wheel. Can anyone explain why this steering wheel
