[Sunbeam Talbot Email List] Exhaust

Thanks for the article. There is a point to a "tuned" exhaust, but there is
a minimal size from which if the exhaust is sized down from it will not
perform as well as it gets restrictive. Also when the bends and convolutions
it undergoes, as it reaches the rear end of the car, are too acute then that
too will restrict the exhaust as well. Right now the exhaust to the rear is
too restrictive. If I go to a side exhaust then I agree that larger is not
necessarily better if not properly sized. I was hoping that there might be a
way to run the exhaust to the rear in a more straight forward way without
hanging it down under the frame and rear axle.

Before you change the exhaust diameter, consider the fact that a large pipe
reduces velocity and may actually cause a negative effect.
Take a look at: http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=659727

will yield more HP than efforts to increase pipe size.
This presumes that the in situ system is not undersized.
