Bill, if I'm not mistaken, it's for the longitudinal stabilizer that  
runs at sump level, parallel to the engine, down the left hand side of  
the engine.  The stabilizer bar connects to this bracket, and then  
runs towards the rear of the car from it, fastening on to the rear  
plate of the engine.
