Bill, at the other end of the spectrum is:

http://www.interesting-cars.com/carsforsale.html (and scroll
to the last car on the page)

which is a mere £24,750 ($43,000 or $2,475,000,000 if using Andy
Murray's flip conversion rate when asked what he thought of his U.S.
Open $1million runner up prize money and said "That's 10 quid, isn't it")

As someone recently noted, our Alpines continue to appreciate.

My gear change cable is now working as smooth as silk and I now owe Rod
Allen one spare complete cable. I also installed a solenoid valve which
opens the inlet manifold when the ignition is switched off. It stops the
carburetter from leaking onto the drip tray above the exhaust manifold
when I switch off.

I also got the petrol gauge working (for a short time). I simply checked
the connections and it seemed to work but when out on the road, the
gauge was fluctuating around the middle of the range, then it went to
Full for a while then to Empty where it stayed. After stopping and
switching the ignition on again, there was a very slight movement of the
needle but in a "backwards" direction so I guess I must re-check all
connections again.

Roll on next week when 12 Sunbeam Talbots of STAR will be in the
Charente for some socialising and the w/e Circuit des Renmparts at
Angouleme. I am informed that the cars will be driving around the
circuit (in town - around the houses) during the Sunday lunchtime break
in a demonstration run.
