Hi Paul I have recently put disc's on my 54 Alpine,its very straight forward if you can locate the parts,the set up is from a Humber Snipe,  from around 1964 model,all you need is the Disc's and Stub axles,they fit directly on to the original Sunbeam top and bottom suspension arms using the original screw in top and bottom trunion pins,the Sunbeam track arms even line up with the Humber set up, make sure the Calipers clear on full lock,I had to grind a small area on the crossmember,to clear, the only other mod, the stub axle on the Humber is slightly lower,than the Sunbeam,and will give you more clearance above the front wheel to guard,easy fix,to cut 1/2 a coil off the front spring, good luck, Mal Clark.
    Ps try to obtain the Humber set up with the calipers in the front of the disc, I plumbed in a Girling VH 44 power booster,for the front brakes only,  PPS, I can not say I have notice any major improvement with these disc's over the standard drum brakes,except to say in prolong braking the disc's must stand up alot better to any fade ?????????

  Hello All.
  I am looking to convert my V-8 54 Alpine and bone stocker Talbot 90 to disk brakes. Short of re-doing the whole front suspension with a Mustang 2 set up, I understand that Hillman parts will work. Has anyone done this and could anyone supply me with the list of parts I will need?
