Hi Doug and Welcome to this excellent site, you will get all the help you need from it,as many have over the few years it has been up and running, keep in mind contact this site for parts or info before you waste alot of time on the outside experts,I also over the last 30+years have owned and restored many Sunbeams, currently finishing a MK2 Tiger, and have a MK1 Tiger to do, and finishing a MK1 Talbot Alpine,I recently finished a complete restoration on my personalise MK1 Talbot Alpine, (power steer.air con, 5 speed etc), my opinion only Doug,I would rather restore two Tigers than 1 Talbot/Alpine, but you will no doubt get there, keep in mind in the last stages of completion.a very good friend of mine here Bob Stewart produces correctly alot of the special rubbers you will need, ( ie fuel filler neck, sill/rocker tread rubbers) his list is on this site, anyway welcome and good luck, Mal Clark.(Australia)

Greetings fellow Talbot enthusiasts,
I am new to the list and thought I'd quickly introduce myself. I'm Doug Babcock, located in Beaverton Oregon - a suburb of Portland. I recently purchased a 52 Talbot drop head coupe. It is a black plate California car, essentially rust free, that is amazingly complete down to all the original tools and fender skirts. It however needs a full restoration, although does start and drive just well enough to load it onto the trailer. The car shows 53,xxx miles - which may actually be correct (?), as it has been off the road for many years. I am attempting to contact its previous owners at this time.
I've owned Sunbeam's - later Alpines and Tigers for a number of years and have always found their corresponding e-mail lists to be very helpful. I have joined STAR and been in touch with the club's US rep (Pete Woodall), who coincidentally lives just north of me in Washington state. My wife and I particularly like the classic lines of the Talbots. Very pretty cars.
So don't be surprised when I ask all the typical "newbie" Talbot questions. Look forward to communicating with all of you further.
Doug
