My 52 Mk II Saloon is black over red. The current carpet is (ahem) green. The upholstery is the typical fawn color.

So.
Is there a resource for a carpet set?
Do I have to "roll my own"
What would the OEM color be?
Would the binding blend or contrast?

I'm pretty sure I would want Wilton Wool, close and short nap as a replacement if I were going to deviate from OEM (which presumes OEM was not Wilton Wool, and I have no clue one way or another.)

Oh, and I just got a picture of the original green book that came with the car. It was delivered in May of 52 as Black over Red. Certainly not a stock color scheme, I am told. Odd, that.

In another odd bit. I read a 1951 Motor Trend article in which Mr. Rootes, himself, gave a reviewer an Alpine for a test drive and evaluation. The reviewer commented on the plaid seatcovers. Seatcovers? Sure enough, a picture shows a strip of plaid at least on the narrow part of the cover (edge/depth)
Research shows that seatcovers were a desirable option in those days and often fitted from new. I think I was pass on the seatcovers, but it was interesting.
