[Sunbeam Talbot Email List] [Staowners] Grace Kelly car search (again)

Hi,

In Japan, there is an extremely wealthy businessman who has in his
collection several important masterpieces, which are never on view to anyone
other than himself. He is very comfortable owning several famous paintings
(perhaps illegally obtained) for his own pleasure. He also has several
famous racecars and the ³Grace Kelly² car. There is no way he will permit
you to see any of his ²hidden² possessions. I cannot reveal my source, but I
know this to be true.

Not.

I think like the James Dean Porsche and a few other famous automobiles that
have disappeared there is a mythic quality that surrounds any famous ³lost²
automobile and sustains our interest and excites our imagination. In this
case, each of our Alpines now possesses an aura that¹s linked to Grace Kelly
and a movie. An aura that would be lost the moment the GK auto is found
because that aura would now be invested in a single definable vehicle rather
than in many.

So, be glad and hope that the car is never found and that the myth is never
resolved or reduced to the commonplace.

All the best,
Ric Scofidio

Thanks all of you for answering.
Not my intention to stir up something to make the dog awaken ...
