[Staowners] Heat deflector plate

I also have a heat deflector on my 53 Mk1. I functions quite well in
collecting the gas that is dripping from my carburetor linkage.
Now with the price of gasoline increasing to criminally exorbitant levels
and the very real chance of an engine fire, does anyone have a fix for the
gas leak?
Thanks.

Subject: Heat deflector plate

Page 28 of the parts catalogue shows item 217 as a heat deflector plate - I
don't remember ever seeing one fitted to a car over here. Does anyone have
this item fitted to there car and does it have any real benefit? I am about
to participate in the Sunbeam Owners Club of Australia National rally and as
I have just made one for my car I am hesitant to try something which may
give me problems.
Thanks
