[Staowners] MARK 3 DRESS RIMS

Hi John,certainly not teaching granny to suck eggs you never stop learning,I assumed the MK3 Alpine did have these trims as shown in the illustration page X11 in workshop manual,admittedly I have never seen them on a Alpine,but I only know of two MK3s in this country, thanks Mal Clark.

  Forgive me if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs, but these trims were never fitted to Alpines, only MK3 saloons and coupes.

  Hi John thanks for email,I have a problem were as I promised my set to a friend to give to his uncle who has a MK3 Talbot,this man has a set of the polished Aluminium ones, prefers the original Chrome trims, I have had my set for a couple of years,after cleaning a viewing them I want them for my Alpine, so I feel obliged to try and locate some originals for him, there were a set on UK Sunbeam ebay last week or 2 weeks ago, they seemed to be dismantling a MK3 Talbot and had a lot of parts, including the dress rims, of course that auction has finished,dont know if they sold,if anyone knows, of that ebay listing I would apprieciate any imformation or contact email, thanks again Mal Clark.

    Check out A.M.Classical.Car Accessories on e-bay. I bought a brand new set from them a few years ago and they are fine. They are polished aluminium and only cost £35 for the set including shipping.

    Hi everyone,is there anyone out their that may have or know where I can get 4 or 5 of the Mk3 only slotted dress rims,these fit over where the holes are in the wheels held on by bend back clips through 4 of the holes in the wheels,
       these dress rims are not the solid chrome pieces that fit on near the outside of the wheel,as said they were only fitted to MK3 Talbots and Alpines, many thanks Mal Clark.
