Welcome Wes - you will find a wealth of knowledge within this group. I
am just an amateur (as in Italian ... 'lover') of ST. My Alpine shares a
garage with a Moke (not the he-haw variety) and an XK120 OTS.
I've just had a session with the petrol gauge - the advantage of the ST
is that many mechanical parts are common through the whole range of
their models and you will be able to get the twined petrol/water temp.
gauge without too much problem from a car being parted. There is a guy
in California ( Mike _Infinity88 at aol.com_ ) who has 6 or more
ST of that era from which he sources parts. Browse around Bob
Hamilton's site: http://www.sunbeamtalbot.info/ and go back through
the ST Mailing List of previous posts.
Good luck and let us all know how you get on
