 if you dont get anywhere with the Alpine Mist mix/code,I can send you a colour swatch.of the correct colour I used on my Works Alpine.I do have paint left over,which I can spray out some,this then can be computer matched or eye match by a good paint shop,I dont think the authorities,would take kindly to me sending the actual paint to you, regards Mal Clark.

  S.T.A.R. had the answer . . . I sent the chassis number/VIN to Guy Woodhams, and he did up one of their "Certificates" for me and sent an electronic image.  Our original color was Alpine Mist!  AND . . . I was able to find some of it remaining on one of the doors.  Seems to be a silvery/metalic color, which is pretty much what I had in mind for the car anyway.

  This means I'll be able to BOTH keep the car original AND have it a color I like.

  Now, anybody know anything about Alpine Mist?  Like maybe a mix code?  Or a more modern equivalent? Bill Spear used to have it, but he seems to have sold the car and the information right along with it . . .

  P.S.  Ausie Bob's crank handle hole cover came Saturday and it is sooooooo sweet!  Now if I just had a bumper to match!

    Star should be able to give you the correct color and mix, they did for my car and mine was Alpine mist

    All this anticipation about the forthcoming starting handle flap has me thinking funny thoughts . . . To wit: How do you determine the original color code for our cars?  

    Mine, a '54 Alpine, does not seem to have anything but the ID number stamped on the VIN plate.  Is the color code attached somewhere else?
