Hi George
If you can't make another compressed cardboard item, How about getting hold of an old alloy tool or camera case that someone has thrown out, or by a new one at a dollar store, the alloy is very thin and can be formed by hand it has corner strips for reinforcing,3ply wood to strengthen the bottom & a lining you could line the inside with.
Cheers

Subject: [Staowners] GLOVE LOCKER
Mal's reply reminded me that I have a job to do on the glove locker. On my Mk 1 Alpine, I have an almost flush , key-locking button to open the locker. The trouble is there is nothing behind it!!! I have the pressed cardboard interior with its metal collar to bolt to the opening but it is in very bad condition.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can re-create this box? I thought that perhaps I could cover it with plastic film and lay up a light fibreglass covering, taking car to leave a lip for the metal collar - unless I could bolt the fibreglass direcrly to the body. Has anyone done something like this in the past or are they available 'off the shelf' at a modest price?

Hi Ramon, ................................................... long gone,a good source I found was under the top lining on the glove box lid,if you remove the lining, the original colour should be there, good luck, Mal Clark.
