Hello Joellin,

   I purchased boots and rings from Moss Motors-their part # 262-220 &
262-210 for my DHC. They fit the original tie rods (smaller tie rods
from center to spindles)

Subject: [Staowners] Replacement boots for tie rods

Hi all -

I need to find some replacement boots for the tie rods on a '54 Alpine
(Parts Manual Page 116, Reference # 79).  Any suggestions?  Has anyone
been able to find an alternative to NOS?

Current tie rod systems are self-contained and do not have a grease
fitting.  They utilize a boot that basically keeps dust / dirt away.  I
haven't been able to find an alternative that would be able to hold
grease in the system.

The originals (at least those that came on my car!) were made by
Lockheed.  It seems like there are 2 different sizes.  I have 4 with
part number J4008 and 2 with part number J6470.

I would appreciate any help you can provide!

Joellin
