[Staowners] ALPINE AT AUCTION

The Barrett Jackson auto auction has evolved (or devolved) from a
premier venue for auto enthusiasts to buy and sell, to a media sensation
where guys with lots of money (and often little knowledge of vintage
autos) can get their "15 minutes of fame" by spending a bunch of money
while their friends watch them on SpeedChannel. It's a good opportunity
for crafty hot rod builders to get a premium for their work.

Subject: [Staowners] ALPINE AT AUCTION

Hi everyone,What a amazing result from the Barratt-Jackson auction,of
the bastardised Alpine, almost a crime to do that to a grand old Lady, I
guess sillier things have been done, to great cars, but to achive that
price, for that car is daunting, talk about running to the bank, this has
to be a starting price for our original cars, nuff said. Mal Clark.
