[Staowners] Rubber grommets.

Ernie - I no longer have a subscription to Practical Classics and when in Vancouver last week visited Wilkinsons Automobilia (to pick up a Minichamps model of the 1930 Bentley Gurney Nutting Coupe) and purchased the December copy. In the Rust In Peace column on page 52 there is a posting with pictures of 3 vehicles from the "Reynolds Tractor Repair Yard" including a ST 90 saloon. The location is in Wetaskiwin. I know the area will be familiar to you but not certain if you were aware of this particular vehicle.

The informant is Doug Frechette at postmandougie at yahoo.ca.

He apparently bought a Standard Vanguard from this location.

Still haven't done any more dismantling on my wreck and will not be doing so at the -30C experienced here - hence the warm up trip up to Vancouver for New Year's.

  Hi All. & Aussie Bob.

  When I took the doors off my Alpine the grommets at the top door hinge looked like they were original.  They were the usual style.  Sized to fit into the upper hole with a groove to lock into the hole size.  That is to say the outside and inside of the grommet were larger than the hole , with the groove the same size as the hole.  
  In my case I had to enlarge the hole and remove the top center bolt from the hinge bracket mounted on the door pillar so the hinge pin would come out without any interference.
  I am assuming that I will have to mount my doors before I install the front wings.  Mal has given me the sequence that he uses to reassemble his cars & I am going to follow his advice.  ( Thanks Mal) 
  Also thanks for the template from which I have fabricated a very nice lever, Mal.
