[Staowners] FIRE WARNING

Hello everyone again, all  the years of being so careful, in my work,and restorations, I feel so ashamed and more so, so so lucky,I was working on my Alpine last week,I completely cleaned off all the underside of my freshly painted bare body,and spray undersealed it, then painted it all in gloss black, having done this,it is looking superb and factory fresh, a couple of days later, I sprayed a Waxoil material into the sill/rocker panel through drain holes I had drilled in the sills 4 each side, I sprayed plenty of this waxoil in them so much so that it ran out of the holes for a fair time afterward. I didnt mind that at all,but continued to mop up the floor with old rags, after which I disposed of the rags in one of my 20 LT rubbish bins, happened to be a plastic one,during the day I had also thrown out some old black paint and thinners into the rags in the bin,, I had a Sunbeam Committee meeting that evening,so I close up my workshop at 6pm, ready to leave about 7, as we were about to leave, I just happened to go back to the workshop for some wax and grease remover.as I approched I noticed smoke coming out of the guttering of the workshop,(ever had that sinking feeling) I opened the door to be confronted with thick black acrid smoke, and the said bin emitting the smoke, I removed the bin to the outside,immediately igniting into flames, which I was able to extinguish, ok, once the smoke had cleared,everything was fine,that day I hadn't been welding or grinding,( thats unusual) this is very scary, I have never experiance spontanous combustion before,but the real concerning/frightening part of it was,if I hadn't gone back to workshop, I would have  lost my workshop and contents including my Alpine, I am still shaking at the thought, I have been told about wet Haystacks going up,and oily rags, but never seen the rags until then,
 be aware, its true it can happen,please be careful. Mal Clark.
