Steve
FD was a late sixties / early seventies model not fifties. Are you sure we're talking about the same model ? Has a distinctive "coke-bottle" hump abaft the B pillar. (Similar to the HB Viva)
Yeah I owned most models of Vauxhall from that era: Viva HA, HB, HC. Victor FB, FD and FE Apart from the FE, they were all rust buckets. Best thing about them was that everyone knew they'd turn brown before your eyes, and so they were cheaper second-hand then the same age Ford and BriLeMoCo machines. In effect, for a given sum you could get a later model of Vauxhall. I liked them a lot. Got fond memories of the HB - that was the one I did my first serious bit of work on - changing the head gasket ! God, it feels like a hundred years ago, but it can't have been more than 35.
Are they collectable ? No. They were just run of the mill machines with nothing to distinguish them.

Steve, I worked for Vauxhall in the sixties in thier fleet maintenace service department. They were indeed rust buckets especially the early F and PA models. That's Victor and Wyvern/Cresta. They stopped exporting tto the US in the late sixties. I believe it was mainly due to emission requirments. If my memory serves me they were badged ENVOY for the US market. Canada got a lot more than we did down here. There is , I believe , a Vauhall owners club alive and well in the UK. Unfortuneatley I recycle d my Classic car mags so I can't find any specifics. I guess it's possible that they have a website of some kind. Just had a brainwave. In an ongoing clean up of our"den" I found a copy of Practical classics from May with a feature on Vauxhall and a list of clubs in the UK. Would you like to have it???? If so let me have your mailing address. Pete

Greetings all ... No Sunbeam message here But since we all seem to be afflicted by the same illness perhaps someone here might have some knowledge & can steer me in the right direction ...
It appears that I now find myself in the possession of a late 50's Vauxhall Victor # FD-136212
After searching high and low on the "net" I have found some info on these cars, But no spares suppliers,
Apparently these rather proletariat GM vehicles were horrific rust-buckets and most of them were used up and thrown away when their bodies deteriorated ! ..... making a good one a rather rare sight today.
Since there appears to be very little collector interest in them I have found no parts vendors or clubs, But since I know that someone somewhere must be crazy enough. I'm assuming that I just haven't looked in the right places yet, anyone have any ideas?
