[Staowners] engine swap

Richard, I don't think a 1725 would quite be a "bolt in " swap as there are some considerable differences. I think a far more feasable swap would be to install a 2273cc from any of the later cars. Might give the front springs a work out but apart from that would probably be more straightforward.
The 80/90 that is for sale in Aus I think listed some Mk111 upgrades, certainly the wheels are from a later car.

Greetings All, I'm still trying to find parts enough to overhaul a '48 Talbot '80'. Hoping to bore it out approx .040 and do a few other things to try to bring up the h/p. I've been following the emails on the "Grace Kelly" unit and saw mention of a possible bolt in swap of a 1725cc Alpine into a Talbot. Anybody out there know of a "reasonably priced" Alpine eng avail? Hopefully somewhere in the NW U.S. I'm in Boise, Idaho but a road trip could be scheduled.
Thanks much
Richard
