Hi Kevin
Sunbeam Diffs are a sore point the car being so heavy , they break the carrier inside, Humber diffs were much more procurable , so people would install those but unfortunately they were a lower ratio, could be your problem. But if you have o/drive it would bring it to about normal.
            Cheers

Kevin, When I installed overdrives to my cars I took them to a speedo specialist here in Portland who have a rolling road and a gauge that measures the actual and indicated road speeds. They then assemble a geared ratio adaptor to even out the difference and install it in the speedo cable. Cost about $120. Seems a lot easier than trying to find a different driven gear.
Regarding the vibration, how's the wheel balance?? Often times when you can "drive through" a vibration it's a wheel balance or run out problem. You may check the wheels for run out as well as balance. What was the Sunbeam turnout at Bellevue?? Unfortunately I wasn't able to make this of all years. Pete

HI All. just an update on the 4 Sunbeams in Victoria B.C. debacle, the seller has returned my cheque after 4 weeks and I have in turn served him court documents to uphold his part of the deal and release the cars to me, so we shall see what happens I will keep you posted.
On another matter I just returned from the annual British field meet in Bellevue ( Seattle) WA ,it was the salute to Sunbeams this year and is only a three our drive, the car ran great but I (the car) has 2 problems, the speedo is out by .6 of a mile, using the mile pointers on the side of the road my speedo reads 1.6 miles for every mile traveled, I have a non stock o/d unit on my original trans so I suspect I need to change to a speedo gear with more teeth, anyone know if they swap out easily and how many teeth = .6 of a mile ?? Secondly at an indicated speed of 55-65 mph I have a driveline vibration / grumble that goes away at faster speeds or slower speeds and is not there on deceleration, trans??? or ??

                    Happy Beaming
                                           Kevin
