Richard, hello from down under after a bit of reserch, and help from Bob Stewart from Bobs Rubbers,Bob has a very comprehensive coloured sales brochure, which suggests the engine colour on the Talbot 80, 1184cc was a green, almost like the body colour they had, Forest green,or sort of Mould green, wereas the Talbot 90 1900cc was a maroon colour, was this true in production?????? on ebay at the moment there are a new set of big end bearings the seller informs me they are for the 1184cc Talbot engine, Bob also commented on his 80 engine although standard bore,he felt that the walls appear quite dense,he suggested a 60thou oversize rebore was possible, but proceed with caution on that, good luck Mal Clark

Subject: [Staowners] engine paint colors
Greetings all, I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1948 Sunbeam Talbot 80 engine and am looking for the correct engine colors. All I can make out on this one is a sort of flat, dark red on the oil filter and fan. Anyone out there know the correct colors? And also, what would be the maximum safe overbore that could be done. This engine is to replace a Pinto (can you believe it?) engine in a 49 Talbot 90.
Thanks much, Richard Johnson
