[Staowners] Spot Lamps

 The "flamethrower lights John referred to are the Lucas SLR700 and SFT700. LR for long range and FT for flat top or"spread" beam. Still available form Moss Motors or Holden Electrical. Also popular were the Lucas SLR575 and SFT575. Same lights except five and three quarter inch diameter. Also still available. Not cheap,but then again what is when it comes to cool car stuff. If you are extremely keen and/or lucky you can source a fog lamp switch from the Mk1 80/90, which had fog lights mounted wher the vent grilles are on the later cars. It matches the push on push off switches on the dash and is stamped with the letter F. Really looks like it should be there especially if mounted in the "dummy" switch location.     Pete

I'm not sure there ever was a 'correct' spec for these lamps as they were after market items. I have a pair of Lucas 7inch 'Flamethrowers' (Spot and Fog) on mine which were current at the time. Be careful though if you go for these, they 'eat' the battery!
