[Staowners] Engine Number Location

 The Hawk that used the same block as the Sunbeam was introduced in '55 in whish case it was probably the Mk111 block which has the engine number stamped on th left hand side towards the back of the block,still up on the top edge.

Hi all,,

I have a local friend with a Mk VI Humber Hawk which I believe has the same basic engine block as the STA cars.  He is in a pickle -  looking for the location of the engine number for registration/licensing purposes.  I, being the impoverished owner of a much later Series III Alpine, have no idea.  So if someone can tell us where to look it would be very much appreciated.
