Thanks Alf ..... I don't have, at the moment, my Owners Handbook nor the 
Workshop Manual as I left both at Gire's garage in Angouleme when they 
moved/re fabricated my exhaust from a side exit to its proper routing 
coming out at the right rear. I looked at the shelf area but only found 
three very small holes on the edge of the shelf - once central and one 
each side about 2 ft away.

When I get the books back next week, I will look for these straps which 
Mal describes so well. With the side screens 'bagged' and held by the 
soft top, I don't think I need to fit them. The hanging skirt/curtain of 
"carpet" like material and colour is a useful mod. and hides/protects 
the hood very well. It is secured to the double skin at the top by 5 
Lift-a-Dot fasteners.

Still raining ...... very fine, like Scottish haar.

goes to the person who wrote the last note - but then perhaps that's
