Alf,the original set up was a black material (woven) type strap.was secured above the area where the frames are stored, this strap was secured on a saddle/staple screwed under the rear area, the strap hangs down to meet a simular strap coming up,only this lower strap is quite short with a buckle attached, the top strap has a metal edge to go through buckle, I think the lower strap is also secured with a saddle I am sure this set up is shown in the handbook.these straps are the same as the tool bag straps (only shorter) in the later series Alpines and Tigers, the staples are also used in the boot areas of these later cars,I purchased these staples from a Blind manufacturer in the past,I have seen them screwed to the ground outside shops with pull down blinds. good luck Mal Clark.

Subject: [Staowners] Side screen holder
Hi Guys,
Can anyone out there send me a sketch of the side screen bracket and belt with lengths, width etc. and how it is secured to the front of the car – I’m talking about the straps etc. which secure the side screens in the car when they are not being used.
Regards,
Alf Scotting - Australia
