Owners handbooks were printed for both the Mk1 & Mk3 Alpines (included
separate lube charts different from the "90" siblings). They are indeed
rare -- sometimes appear on eBay. Mercian Manuals
http://www.mercianmanuals.co.uk/ have begun reproducing them (the manuals
are not yet listed on their website, but if you contact them, they'll be
happy to provide -- they also sell 'em on eBay UK). Their reproduction is
very good. There are only two faults, but only if you are an authenticity
fanatic. The raised, plasticized cover lettering of the original is not
duplicated (their cover is flat-printed in correct colours, lettering
style, &c.) -- it would be difficult/costly to replicate that
lettering. The lube chart is in black and white, not the original
colour. However, the rest of the manual is an excellent reproduction,
printed (not photocopied), and on heavy stock. At around £20, it would be a
very good alternative 'til you find an original -- if you can, and in good
condition... I'd suggest even if you have an original, keep it in good
shape and use the repro as an everyday reference. BTW, the owner's manuals
have a lot of useful info, so having one is worthwhile.
Should you require, Mercian also reproduce the parts catalogue and the
workshop manual.
Cheers! --Max
