Ray,in the early days of Sunbeam Alpine Rallying,one of the works drivers was Ronnie Adams,maybe a contact there, but dont think,he was American,I think he was British,so would he of owned your left hand drive car,not sure, food for thought

  up the name:  J.R. Adams as probably/possibly being
  a prior owner (maybe even the original owner) of my
  '53 Sunbeam Alpine Mark 1............

  Anyone heard of him/her???????????
