I was afraid to give too much detail as being "off topic"..but I see
you guys are still young enough to be curious :~) The leads are
encouraging. I but can't afford to deal with the guy at vintage
restoration...I can't get him to communitcate much by email either.
2,000 dollars a light seems a tad steepish...:~)

Okay. Here's an "artist's conception" (top) of what I am aiming at.
It all started when some guy bought this car in AZ and had it shipped
to NW where the body and upholstery were ditched so a 135M Le Mans
Replica replica could be built on the frame...I picked up the body
for almost nothing (he will likely get best of show at Pebble and I
will suffer hate speech about "destroying" this classic car...)
Anyway, I was just going to have it shipped over and , I don't know,
watch videos in it or something. Then the friend that got me into it
suggested I get it up on some kind of rolling frame so it could be
moved around. Next thing I knew I was into a project to put the body
on an old rusted Mk VII jag (another classic "destroyed"!). Never
mind that I could have bought a real Delahaye for what I have in this
one..but at least I will be able to drive this one anywhere..disc
brakes etc...

Some other "sausage making" pictures to warn off anyone even giving
the slightest thought to this sort of project. Note my "official"
Delahaye data plates on the engine...The modern fins will be milled
off and the valve covers engine turned to give a sort of exotic
Bugatti look and disguise the old Xk a little.

Anyone live in Christchurch? They could go look in on it for me...
S
