Hi again everyone,I have just recieved some photo's of Kevins superb blue Alpine, was interested to see he has upholstered the seat bases with a fluted patten same as the backs, unlike the original flat bases,this original design is a trimmers nightmare, My works car was done to original flat base in beautiful leather,went back three times for the trimmer to tighten the leather after a few trips each time,either I have a big backside or todays good quality Leathers are thinner than those of the fifties,and seem to stretch and give alot more,i think the original leathers weren't cow hides more like Bison,or elephant,
  My trimmer has always said the flutes will always stay in shape and look good, unoriginal, but I agree with him, after my works car the next one will have the flutes on the base, any comments,     Mal Clark.
